Grandparent Interviews... (Sample Intro Clip
Here) We will come to your loved one’s home to interview and record your family history. Your parents or grandparents’ life stories will be videotaped for a visual and oral record. Preserve your family history and memories so you and your children will have a sense of the past. This history will be a travel through time from birth, through life’s experiences and challenges. Birth, school, work, marriage and other life journeys are covered. Over 300 probing questions are asked in a sensitive, caring way to create this visual and oral history. Interviews take approximately 3+ hours. The video is transferred to DVD or videotape. They make excellent holiday or birthday gifts or just the gift that says, “I love you.” Grandparents and parents make arrangements to have these heartfelt legacies done for your children. This special and unique creation is available for $300.00, which includes the interview and videotape or DVD. Additional copies are $40.00 each. Due to the personalized nature of these interviews, we can only serve the Chicagoland area.
What
To Expect
We do not limit responses, but we DO keep the responses "on track". In other words, if the response to a question begins to go off on a tangent, then we steer the interview back on track. We must do this to keep the interview going forth in a logical order. The final project is either your choice of a DVD or a VHS. Either choice includes an "intro clip" and an "end clip" that is simply a nice beginning and end to the interview. This is done by us after the interview is complete. If you choose a DVD, it is put into chapters first. The reason for this is easy to understand. You can simply choose to watch the interview from front to end OR you can choose which chapters you'd prefer to watch in the order you choose to watch them. This is useful when you are watching the interview multiple times. It is our experience that the family tends to watch the interview from front to end the first time, and then goes back later to watch their favorite parts. The interview usually translates to three DVD's in personalized cases. Of course a VHS copy does not call for "chaptering", but it does still include an "intro clip" and an "end clip". Most interviews copy over to two VHS tapes in personalized cases.
